Edmonton, AB (April 28, 2020) – Home builders are increasingly choosing Sweetly Real Estate to ensure their customers can make the transition to their new homes.
Carrington Communities is the first of Edmonton’s major home builders to announce a new joint relationship with Sweetly to make downsizing more convenient for homeowners.
Four-time Canadian Home Builders’ Association (CHBA) Multi-Family Builder of the Year, Carrington Communities is the renowned builder of quality condominiums such as Allure, Ara, Edge, E-Scapes, Veritas, and more. Over 10,000 families have chosen Carrington Communities for their most important investment, making them a trusted business in the Edmonton area for over 45 years.
Edmonton-based Sweetly is a fully-licensed real estate brokerage offering homeowners the choice to sell their home hassle-free with no public showings or open houses. Serving the Edmonton area since September 2019 by a team of local REALTORS® with 30+ years of real estate experience, their unique model gives homeowners the option to list traditionally or skip the process and sell immediately.
“We are excited to partner with Sweetly and recommend their unique listing opportunity to our customers,” says Nanette Charest, General Manager at Carrington Communities. “Many of our clients are downsizing, they have a home to sell before they can move into a condo, and may not have the luxury of waiting out a traditional listing. Sweetly’s model alleviates some of the stress for them, allowing them to focus on other aspects of their move.”
Sweetly’s industry-disrupting model evaluates a home by comparing it to other recent sales in the area, then offers homeowners the opportunity to sell to Sweetly and receive two payments; one paid immediately upfront, and one after the home has been resold. The first payment represents 75% of the expected market value, and the remaining balance, minus a 6.5% flat fee, is paid to the original homeowner after Sweetly resells the home on the open market.
As part of their ongoing partnership with Carrington Communities, Sweetly will be reducing their fee to 6.25% of resale value to Carrington customers.
Sweetly owner Ed DePrato says, “Carrington is a fabulous builder and we’re extremely proud to be working for them and their customers. Our model is proving to be a much-needed service as people learn how easy we make selling a home, and more builders are recognizing that need.” He hopes partnerships like this will signal a change in the industry as businesses adapt to shifts in consumer needs.
